Want to Become A Volunteer?
Thank you! Our volunteers are what makes Miles Perret Cancer Services (MPCS) such a special place. There are many capacities in which we can utilize your individual talents and interests. We need volunteers on a weekly basis for office support and periodic mailings. We also need volunteers to help with our fundraising events such as Games of Acadiana, MPCS Triathlon, and Camellia Crossing.
How old do you have to be to volunteer with Miles Perret Cancer Services?
Because of the nature of our work and the activity with our events, we require all volunteers to be 16 and older.
Can my family or organization (business, sorority, troop) volunteer together?
We would love to have your family or group volunteer. Most of our group volunteer opportunities are during our fundraising events: Games of Acadiana, MPCS Triathlon, and Camellia Crossing. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator to learn more about event opportunities. Please note that all volunteers must be 16 and older.
Does MPCS offer weekend volunteer opportunities?
We only offer weekend volunteer opportunities during our weekend fundraising events: Games of Acadiana and MPCS Triathlon. The rest of our opportunities are during normal business hours.
Are there opportunities to complete community service hours?
Yes, you can complete community service hours with us. Unless you volunteer for a fundraising event, the opportunities are only during normal business hours Monday to Friday.
Will I receive a letter confirming my volunteer hours?
We are happy to write a letter to your organization confirming your volunteer time. Please just ask our Volunteer Coordinator.
What do I wear to volunteer?
If you are volunteering in the office, please just wear something appropriate. Jeans and comfortable shoes are fine. If you are volunteering at an event, please wear the yellow volunteer t-shirt with either shorts or jeans and comfortable shoes.
